Pilates has been called "the thinking person's exercise system", because you learn how your body works and what you need to do to keep yourself healthy.

What is the secret of Pilates? Those in the know swear by it and once they discover the benefits, people tend to stick with it for life. The reason is because it works. You will see and feel the difference soon after you start lessons, developing a flatter stomach, improved posture and looser, more flexible joints.

Pilates is the perfect exercise system for the 21st-century lifestyle. It works as an antidote to days spent hunched over a computer, driving in rush-hour traffic and carrying heavy bags.

It's important to learn Pilates from an experienced and professional instructor, who can assess your needs and create a programme specially for you to help remedy and deal with the stresses and strains of modern life. The apparatus is used provide both resistance to challenge your body and support to help it regain its balance. It is very versatile so your teacher can modify the exercises and resistances to suit your needs.

Whether you are new to Pilates or a trained athlete this technique always has something to offer. If you want to tone and regain your body shape after childbirth or need to support your body though pregnancy, Pilates will help you. If you have chronic pain, an injury, or have had surgery and need help getting back to health, Pilates is one of the best tools for rehabilitation. If you want to improve your posture or just do some exercise and get more toned and feel better, Pilates is for you.

All our teachers have extensive knowledge and great skill in teaching Pilates and because we want to help our clients achieve an advanced awareness in practising Pilates, we work with each person individually. We give you the time and space to learn about your body and master the exercises.

Once you understand the principles behind Pilates you don't need to be in a studio or have special equipment to do a Pilates work-out: (though of course that will always keep you improving in the correct way) you can practice any time, any place, fitting it into your daily routine in the way that's most convenient.
